08 May NOT A GOOD TIME TO BE A COW: SUPREMA PROVISIONS
Looking in from 7th Avenue with just the slightest of squinting and it’s a little bit of Spain meets Rome in old world rustic tapas bar meets salumeria style. When it comes to the food however, it’s eyes wide open for deliciously crafted plates. The citrusy spring fresh arugula salad was a perfect complement to the salty-sweet gaminess of the marbled Ibérico Bellota jamón — I guess there’s something to hogs living a leisurely life at the farm on a diet of acorns. But it’s the burger of short rib and brisket brushed with Ibérico jamón bacon jam slathered with melted aged cheddar accompanied by a mound of perfectly roasted brussels sprouts that makes for a truly great plate.
